Justin completed his Masters in Critical Social work between the Urban populations of Melbourne, Australia and the hill-dwelling Savara communities of India.

As a new resident of Valgamaa, Justin has been involved with the development of Elav Tartu and MTÜ Emajõe Aed whilst establishing the new social work and sustainability focused MTÜ Eikellegimaa.

Representing the Tallinn Community Gardening scene, Liis won 2nd prize in an innovative ideas competition with her proposal for implementing urban agriculture in Tallinn. This launched an urban community gardening project with some city official support. Slowly this activity formed MTÜ Rabarber. Learning from success and failure the
organisation has been focused upon securing funding, performing permaculture gardening
workshops for different community groups in Tallinn and exploring ways of growing
useful plants in a city environment.

Liis studied landscape architecture and urbanism, She has been involved in a wide array of projects; from squatting land to protect it from GMO production in
Vienna, to bringing scrap bread to community cooking in Copenhagen. Her activities keep her moving closer to a more resilient urban environment and nature-oriented way of life.

Anna Maquet

The memory of places is a thematic that impregnates my work as a landscape architect. With memories I catch the essence of elements present and understand what these project areas mean for humans who live within. This gives meaning to proposed changes.

Leader in NGO Emajõe aed (Emajõe garden) and one of the leaders of the Elav Tartu movement.
