We are a community of specialists, social enterprises, activists, farmers and people who value healthy and clean local food. Also we are concerned about our current urban development where greenery, biological and social diversity, local economy is not yet being dealt with care and passion. For this reason we have organised
FOOD URBANISM conference that took place in Tartu on 18-20th April 2018.
On this site we are sharing information that was shared during conference and communicate with new initiatives to spread the knowledge about this topic.

LOCAL FOOD SYSTEMS PLANNING & DESIGN
There are still allotment gardens, dacha-districts, leafy city gardens, natural riversides and meadows left in most Estonian towns.
Immediate efforts must be made to maintain the social and environmental value of these areas. Without such action inappropriate future planning of green spaces will result in further loss of wildlife and residents exclusion from food production.
Protection of the urban natural environment and the promotion of local food (cultivation) needs greater appreciation and awareness.
